Your local club is the Iveagh, decent water on the Lagan. I was a member for years. The stretch from Geehans bridge on the Dromore road up to Donaghcloney was always good. McIduff fishing and field sports do the tickets and membership forms. The club also gives away a number of free tickets each week to holders of fcb permits
http://iveaghac.com/ The Banbridge club isnt far away from you either but there is a waiting list. Fishing is on the Bann,
Arrgh!! love/hate dollaghan. for brown trout, dollaghan and salmon and at Corbet Lough for browns and 'bows.

Is that the Bann at Lawrencetown? I caught my first wild brown there many years ago on a greenwells nymph. If that's where you are talking about there are some good hatches of olives at the moment, try a size 14 dry during the day and something like a sherry spinner in the evening. A grey duster is good anytime and a klink with a small goldhead hares ear nymph New Zealand style will work. There will be dollaghan in the deep water and maybe a salmon. There's a great tradition of fly fishing in our area, you are in for a treat. Did you know the park lake used to be a trout fishery, free for the people of the town? They ran up the wee stream in the golf club in the Autumn and we used to sneak in and try to guddle them when I was a cub. Always finished with an angry golfer chasing us, great fun. Lots of the lurgan men fish the big loughs as well, Erne, Melvin etc.
The put and takes nearby include Murloc, Dungannon Park lake and Eskragh lough. Not my speciality but there must be more as well. Join a club and go on their away trips, you'll love it.
Simon.
