I'm booked in to go to Lake of Menteith for the 1st time in a couple of weeks,anybody have any hints on flies to use at this time of year and best places to fish etc?

Since the Home International is coming up, a week today, theres not much chance of some info.... untill the 12th/13th.....

hoppers were doing well last week as were red holo diawl bachs and a coral blob mini cat always worth a cast hope this helps

I dont fish THE LAKE that often and cant offer any info but fairplay to CLYDESTYLE for offering up these patterns to a first timer. All that cloak and dagger **** gets my back up . Have a great day m8 ,tightlines

I'm fishing it on Saturday so I'll post a report. Don't fancy our chances much tho, after all the practicing there'll be this week and the comp on Friday

If anyone has any advice for Saturday, feel free to pm me if you want to keep it secret

Off to Menteith 5am in the morning. I'll post a report from the hotel and hopefully a few pics of some nice trout.

My mate James Gardiner and his wife Joy were on the Lake today and had 15 in the boat at 5pm, ( don't know how they finished) i only gave him a call to see how wet and miserable he was. And thats after all the practising and the national final the previous day!
