Default The reason why

I knew there was a reason why i'm a fly fisherman. Today i went coarse fishing with my brother in law, and caught 2 small roach and a 3lb common.
I think i'll stick to feather flinging for now.

I started fly fishing in my teens, maybe because someone, I think it was my headmaster, told me that only people with aristocratic blood could cast a fly.

Well here is one Yorkshire peasant who proved him wrong in about 30 minutes flat.

The minute I caught my first fish on a fly, a dace from a local stream, I knew that I had a lot of fly fishing ahead of me.

These days most of my fishing is with the fly rod, mainly because I cannot carry the enormous amounts of gear you have to carry when you go coarse fishing.

Couldn't agree more- in the last 2 weeks I have caught- by design- perch on bait and plug to 2lbs, a 6-15 barbel on worm and a 2-6 wild brown on a ptn .Love it all- fly fishing is the most fun but fishing's church is a broad one.Mine just doesnt have small stillwaters of any description though...
