What kind of water do you fish, peebster?

If it's smaller stillwaters, I'd say you'd use an intermediate (1 or so inches p/sec) much more than a sinker.

If it's boat fishing in a reservoir & I was limited to 2 lines, I'd have a floater & reasonably quick sinker.

Hi.
with an intermediate line the whole line sinks. With a sink tip the first 5-15ft sinks whilst the rest of the line floats.
hope this helps.
John.

P.S. I would choose an intermediate.
