Default Bettyhill Fly Selections

Hi all.

I have a weeks fishing trip to Bettyhill coming up very soon - 6th -13th September.

I usually fish small stocked Loch's around my area, typically catching rainbows, so this trip is going to take me out of my comfort zone a little. I am going with a few friends who have fished the area many times before - both bait fishing and fly fishing.

I plan on doing 99% fly fishing (weather conditions permitting) but I want to make sure my fly box is full of the right flys for the right area at the right time of year. I also plan to use my float tube where ever possible.

Can anyone give any ideas of fly's I should be adding to my box? I have a few at the moment but any recommendations would be very very muchly appreciated.

Thanks all,

Dale

Dale I have fished around there a few times and I can say the usual bushy loch ordies, dabblers, and heather fly will all excell on these wind swept lochs.

Some cracking fish in them so don't go toolight either 6lb minimum I'd say. some of the more accessable lochs that can be seen from the road are usually fished a lot (for that part of the world) and what I would do is take an ordance map of the area and head for some away from the roads, and don't be afraid to ask at the local pub(s) for advice.
