Default murdered by a swan!!

just back from the wiltshire avon and had a fantastic day on the grayling. 6 of them to 2lbs, only one trout just over the pound mark. as i was playing it, it shot off like a rocket upsteam right underneath a swan. i horsed it away as quickly as i could, the swan promptly chased it downstream and as soon as i got it to the surface smacked it on the head with its beak and killed it stone dead. i fish C&R at all times. so trout for tea tonight. jon mcmillan.

Thats crazy! I have seen swans fight other swans but never fish lol

At the start of this season Clueless Turtle his son and I were fishing Springwater and we seen 2 male swans fighting over a female, and my god do those things go at it!!! Wullie ended up driving towards them in the rhino just to try and break them up. When they had stopped fighting and moved to another field we fished passed the scene of the fight and Clueless's boy collected me a sandwich bags worth of swan feathers for use in flytying

A few friends over the years have told horror stories when any thing enters the territory of a male swan.
Nature at work I guess.
