Hi D/B.

I would not bother with Eglwys at the moment, fishing is Hard and uncomfortable, apart from llandegfedd (which is your best bet) there is a small res owned by the water board in the Newport area called Wentwood. I fished this many years ago and i remember them having two boats, but you had to ROW them
Best advise for an update on this res will most probably come from a member living in this area.

On the Eglwys matter that is the water i am a member of, and if you ever wanted to fish it in, pm me and i will get a report of the fishing for you or perhaps meet up.

all the best Tony............

Cheers Tony - and thanks for your generous offer.

I'd completely forgotten about Wentwood. My only visit there was a long time ago, notable for fry feeding rainbows and the appearance of a team of police divers who proceded to spoil the fishing by (fruitlessly) searching for a body.

Does Cray res have any boats?

Colin,
There's some boats on "Roath Park Lake" !! Well, it's close to home!

Are you still laid up from your injury? I think Llandegfedd is your closest!

Hope your well enough to get back on the River soon!

Regards

Mostyn

I had thought of putting a qualifier in that post to exclude Roath Park lake Mostyn. There's aways one - it had to be you!
Still on crutches -that makes four months, thus 2009 season completely down pan, - but can (literally) crawl into a boat. Two or three months to go apparently but at least I'll be able to walk at the end of it. Looking forward to seeing you on the Taff when I'm mended.

Thanks TB, I love Ynys Y Fro, reservoir of ye limited back cast, and had forgotten about the boat there.
