Default things rainbows take !

fishing today was hard not much taking , tried all different flies ,bibios , butchers , katies , vivas, spiders , buzzers, daddies, nearly went through them all and no even a touch !!! had 2 droppers on most of the day and caught 2 fish and both times it was on a deer hair orange blob i tied myself once on the point ,then on the bottom dropper . iv only just started tying so they are pretty **** but what is it with bows and taking blobs when they wouldnt touch anything else ( flies i had bought ) ?? im no really that bothered just happy to catch fish just wondering

As Izaak Walton once wrote,

And when the timorous Trout I wait
To take, and he devours the bait,
How poor a thing, I sometimes find
Will captivate a greedy mind.

There's no accounting for what a trout might take - they aren't exactly the most intelligent of animals but I'm sure other anglers on the forum will beg to differ.

Sounds like you were to deep mate,
Funny how the deer hair blobs would of fished higher in the water and you had your only 2 fish on them
