As the Lexus individual finals are on this week, and more than half of the competitors are forum members, I would wait until around Wednesday to get a reply to that.
They might prefer to keep their powder dry.

But seriously, boat or bank?

Chew is fishing pretty poor at present.water.after the winds giving it a stir up. so you have a mixture of sediment and the bloom algae.i spent numerous hours searching for them.did eventually find them.if you want more info on location.i will pm them you.fish blagdon is fishing alot better.close in on corixa fly.you can hire an electric outboard with x2 battery for the day for £15 from blagdon boat engines.but you best saving your money and do a bit of wading.hope this helps.

Does anyone know why a big fishery goes off just and stops fishing it head off.

The conditions seem perfect and have been for a few weeks. Any thoughts?

Temperature of water is 16 ish

Or have the fish gouged up on buzzers and it takes 4 weeks to digest them? Any scientic boffs out there who might know how long it takes for a trout to empty a full stomach as i havnt found much on the net.

It has been a strange year at Chew - never seen so much weed growth in over 30 years fishing the lake. As to large waters "going off" well I really do think that after heavy rain you get a lot of nitrates washed into these lakes which I am sure sicken the fish. This certainly happens at Chew and is also a contributory factor (along with all the poo from waterfowl) to the excessive weed growth.Someone once told me that the farms use the money from their set aside subsidies to purchase more fertilizer to increase the yields on their arable land. The set aside is invariably rubbish land so could make sense.

Am just hoping that with the Autumn almost upon us Chew will "switch on" for the last few weeks.

It's usually cos someone has farted or that the fish are more likely locked onto pin fry...?

Spoke to Woodford Lodge today and they advise that the green algae is still present and water clarity is poor - apparantly Blagdon is similarly effected consequently little fishing effort at either lake.

I was taking fish on a cats booby with crunchers on the droppers. fished on an intermediate.or yellow bobby on a di3.most of the anglers there that fished through the winds sat on the back of denny.so not really surprising not alot was caught.got to work pretty hard for them.but then thats fishing.
