Default Top trout

Took my nephew out for a b-day fishing trip this afternoon.

Here's a couple of shots of the ace wild trout we encountered:

Nice pics Paul, is the middle fish a stockie, as it is totally different in spots compared to the last one.
Our Eden trout are similar to the last one, and most with red spots, are usually stock fish.

Don't think so - there's no stocking (other than the odd rainbow that washes over the reservoir dam in a flood). It has quite a large head, and has probably lived quite a while to make it to that size in the upland/peaty conditions.

Ooops - edit, no the middle fish is definitely not a stockie.

Probably right Paul, I was just interested.
Was that the cut finger that stopped your trip up here the other week. ?

Which one bit his thumb? Nasty looking injury that! Great fish though - just been out for a couple of hours after work but the fish weren't as big as yours - well done!

Has it not been raining much in your neck of the woods lads, the rivers up here are far too high.
