most new comers are advised to attain a little trust before trying to make an expensive sale on the forum (NO OFFENSE MEANT) as their has been a few bad transaction i think in the past which has made people quite rightly weary.

i think the forum admin should only allow people with a least 50 posts to sell stuff on the forum!!!!

This Forum is built on trust and so I wholeheartly agree with anyone warning us to steer clear of potentially dodgy people.

That said, the classifieds is only one part of a whole and bad people are often caught out elsewhere too.

Maybe it is time that Admin insist on a 20-50 post limit before being allowed onto Classifieds but then wont that drive some members to dealining offline?

I visit shed loads of forums and it's quite common to be restricted to the sale sections, even to look, until you've been a member for a month or so

Saves scum ripping you off and spammers joining etc

I feel that restrictions on using classified has some merit.

when i was into carp fishing and a member of another forum you had to meet this criteria before you could even view the classifieds:

(A) The member must have been a member of the Forum for at least 3 months
(B) The member must have contributed a minimum of 100 posts that in the opinion of the Moderators have been constructive and have positively contributed to the Forum.
(C) The member must not have been subject to any warnings and/or penalties by the Moderators for at least 3 months (or longer period if imposed as a penalty)

If the above criteria have been met then the member should fully complete their profile page with the following information:

Your real name
Your current full address and postcode
Your current home telephone number
Your current mobile number (optional)
Your current email address

the admin would then phone you to verify that your details are correct then you would recieve a thumbs up icon, all details were then held on record in case of a dispute,

regards,
matt.....

I totally agree with members not being able to post on classified's without having gone through a 2-3 month trial period.

Also if any members do spot a post they consider to be dodgy, use the report post button at the top right of the post, it looks like an exclamation mark (!) inside a red triangle. Always best to let admin know about it straight away so they can take action.
