can any tell me what flys to try at that time of year and what river to fish and if salmon will be in the river that time of year.
Thanks

well if i was fishing a strange stretch of river in wales, i would never ever be without 6 flies.....
(mallard&claret)(peter ross)(teal blue and silver)(black penell)(partridge&orange)(snipe & purple) standard armour........dont forget your stoneflies black and olive.......gold ribbed hares ear nymph , daddy long legs........

and in flood water ..... our old friend taff price a veteran of the waters you are going to grace, would recomend a (blue zulu)(butcher)(bloody butcher)

other flies also recommended by taff price for the erea are:-

coachman,march brown,silver invicta.....wet

greenwells glory,black gnat,wickhams fancy,cinnamon sedge......dry

hope that helps.......jim

The penultimate day of the salmon & sea trout season and some two weeks after the brown trout season finishes.

It's not to far from Bala and the upper Dee - best grayling fishing in the world and the best time too - 20 mins drive. How long is your stay?
