Default Whats your favourite tactics???

Right guys just a curiosity topic here....

Whats your favourite tactics/method on waters and why?

ie it might be what you have most confidence in, or what catches you the most fish

wheather it be upstream dry fishing on a small river or stripping lures on a big stillwater?

Just curios to see what tactics fill other anglers with confidence whilst fishing.

Fire away folks........................

My favourite tactics, back in the good old days, was to fish a Grey Wulff during a Mayfly hatch on Ladybower Reservoir.

on rivers i use the hackled wets mostly, when i see flies on the water i switch to a black cdc fly with 10 foot leader and a floating line.

on lakes and resevoir i fish lures, wets and dries with a 10-15 foot leader and a floating line

short line nymphing with heavy nymph in freestone rivers. I really should become more versatile but I'm just very confident in this method

Regards

Seriously though upstream dry or down and across wets, both extremely enjoyable. P&P.

My favorite method is a dry fly with a spider on the dropper fished upstream, best early season. After that the Duo.

Dries simply because they're the most visual and enjoying method of fishing for me. Not neccessarily most successful at times.

I feel most confident fishing upstream, does not matter if its a dry or a nymph as long as it is upstream,

Hi', Like Scotty, dry fly for trout, any angle on rivers, anywhere on still waters; but I used to love nocturnal sea trout fishing when I was younger and my powers of recuperation were better than they are today. Have salmon fished, sea fished, coarse fished; fished fly for coarse fish, occasonally, and less frequently, salt water fly. Would fish in a bucket if pushed a little. TerryC
PS might not catch anything, but at least I'd be able to locate the fish!!

I'm working on it Frank.....honest!! I might have to go cold turkey though and just leave the nymphs at home!
