Default Casting

This might sound a silly question, but i'm right handed and cast with my right hand, i find it difficult, in certain situations where i can't cast with my normal arm, how do you guys over come this.

how many of you have learnt to cast with the wrong arm i.e a right handed caster, changing to left handed cast?
Dave

Just angle your right arm over to your left at about 45 degrees thats what I do.

Try holding the rod upright and now bend your wrist 45 degrees to the right. make a cast as normal but the rd tip will come over your left shoulder.

try casting with the rod in your left hand hold say a brush in the other.
the brain finds it ifficult to do two thing at once but if you can mimick your timing from your casting arm, job done,it works.

If our father had had his say, nobody who did not know how to catch a fish would be allowed to disgrace a fish by catching him.

Hi', Dave. Casting with the 'wrong' hand is not so difficult to learn, but striking can be.
Take the rod handle in both hands, as a child would. Start casting and after a few casts, when you have made a false cast forwards, remove your normal casting hand and carry on. If you can't keep the timing right, replace your normal casting hand, get the rhythm going again and place the index finger of your normal casting hand on the ball of the thumb of the 'wrong' hand. This contact will help maintain the timing. Good luck. TC

best to practice with a rod in each hand for coordination and it will help with movement and get both hands used to moving together, along with the brain.
just an option.
