I have bought a few from them, the 1st order they did'nt have everything in stock and it took about a week to come but the next order was delivered in a couple of days. Quality has always been good.

I started buying flies from them, quickly realised it's a false economy. Flies start to unravel after one or two fish. Changed to fulling mill flies or flies tied by good tiers and they last easily upwards of 20 fish. Some going on well more than that.

They look fine but i've noticed a few issues on hook strength and robustness so to speak.

I have been very pleased with them to be honest. Pretty quick delivery although one or two flies have been a little different to the images but nothing to get upset about considering the price they charge.

My experience regarding the quality is also fairly positive, there are a few I have used a lot and are still going strong.

Thanks for the replies. Hedged my bets and have bought from essential flies & flies online. Hope they hold up for my upcoming trip.

Having been a tyer for 40 years, i think i now recognise a decent tied fly
I have got lazy in my old age, so i have been purchasing a few flies of these two tyers,
so i would like to recommend them to forum members.
Both sell on ebay.
Keypoint 33 1142,
J.Mckay flies.33
johns flies are well tied and some nice patterns, he tyes for a club and fishes Markle.

Ultimate-flies 335
Lloyd is also a first class tyer, and his flies and nymphs are never overdressed,
he is official England Loch style Team Flytyer,
And winner of the Lexus 2007 european open,
Hope this post has been helpful, you wont get these flies for 40p but they are not over the top also.
Cheers Laurie.

I'm glad you mentioned this fact.

What alerted me was......... i've designed some useful Small water flies over the years and one in particular was the Kick-ass damsell range............. essential flies copied and offered them forsale which i don't have a problem with .... but what i do have a problem with is the quality of the particular pattern............... there efforts look cheap and nasty to be honest and nothing like the origionals.......... the flies were designed to a specific standard and spec. to bring out the very best of the particular design......... so i would say that if your happy using cheaper quality flies then fine but if you want quality then pay for it and use Fulling Mill.
Fulling Mill study the designs of flies properly and offer you quality.
Or like Laurie says try and find a good tyer............ Lloyd has a good consistancy record in fly fishing....... his crunchers are tied as they should be.............. and is well worth a fly or ten.
Fred Bainbridge.

Had no issues with them.

I usually get them from them or fliesonline.

I purchased some of his crunchers, cracking, also his diawl bachs tied so slim,
you think there is hardly any material in them,
But do they work, they are excellent fish catchers.
There are also excellent tyers on the Forum who sell,
seek them out, eventually you will find a tyer whos flies you will like.
