what size of flies should i be using on stillwater / reservoirs 12/14 is what i generally use ,but should i use smaller ?

I have found that on my local stillwater at this time of year size really does matter. A size 18 dry will be taken when a size 12 will be refused. Same goes for buzzers at the moment size 14 or smaller is the order of the day.

Always try smaller if they won't take what they usually do.

think i will need to buy some smaller flies and buzzers then ,coz thats mostly the sizes iv got . do you think this is why i keep getting good hits but the fish aint actually taking my flies at the moment ? or is it still i canni catch fish
