Default buzzer sizes

Forgive me if it has been covered but as a general rule of thumb do you use bigger buzzers in summer and smaller in winter?

I only fish with buzzers up to size 12 but am I missing out?

I don't think there is a rule of thumb.

Tbh i never heard that rule, but you might be right. I carry buzzers size 10-16 as the are more than one size of buzzer.

I think that you would use larger at the start and end of the season and smaller in the middle part of the season. You should always carry a variety of sizes.

This year I have used midge pupa imitations from size 8 to size 20, I suppose I have caught most fish on a 14.

Default Buzzer Sizes

I seem to remember seeing a chart once that graphically showed the general size of buzzers each month of the season (probably for Rutland or Anglian Water reservoirs). I think the common colours each month were also indicated.

Racking my brains here trying to think where I saw it, probably in some long lost magazine.

Personally, I use size 12 to start with but also have them in 10's and 14's.
