Question mosquitos

how long can mossies live ? i came back from cuba on june 22nd, yesterday i opened a fishing bag i took ,then when sitting in my conservatory late evening i heard that familiar buzzing of the mossie , next thing i have 3 bites on my ankles & feet ,before i killed it ,can they live that long ???

I stand to be corected, but mozzies in this country cant live as long as even a week, due to our climate (even in your conservatory).

This is the reason why malaria cant be transmitted here, as it takes more than 7 days for the insect to develop the capasity to spread it.
