Default Midlands Game Fair

Thinking of going to the Midlands Game Fair on 19th/20th September at Weston Park. I've never been before and if I decide to go I'll have to take leave at work. Only interest I'll have is in the Fly Fishing side of things.

Is it worth the trip? do I go or do I save my annual leave for some fishing days??

Default midland game fair

i have been going to the midland almost 10 years and thoroughly enjoy every minute.
i shoot and fish and find the entire two days overwhelming like a pig in the preverbial.
the midland offers some great fishing stands fly, coars and amything in between, tying etc.
it is definetly woth the visit just for the sheer no of demonstrations by the top anglers as well as all the outdoor clothing and pariphenalia.
septembet probably not the best time to buy fly gear but next hear head down to the CLA NO THATS AMAZING.

I would disagree - The Midland has really gone downhill as a Fishing Day Out - great shooting show pretty poor for fly fishing apart from a few good casting demos. Very little in the way of quality fly orientated stands.

Me too. I stopped going a couple of years ago. I found it over priced and with very little in the way of fishing. There are getting to be rather a lot of bric-a-brac stalls for my liking too. I like a game fair to be about just that, I am not interested in carving rocking horses and second hand tools. Plus £3.50 for a bacon roll is a bit rich..................birdsnest
