I use Fulling Mill a lot, as well as the excellent aforementioned Spiderwire.
No real problems with either, at least not in the realms of some of our correspondents.
I totally agree with fully wetting the line before tightening really slowly, making sure it all beds down as you go.
When tying blood knots make sure you pull on the the tag end rather than the main line. Helps to reduce the kinking around the knot.
Usually the reduced diameter of the fluorocarbon over standard nylon means you can use a higher b.s. as well.
