Default Grade 1 fish in Scotland

Has anyone else noticed the quality of fish in Scotland has been pretty stunning this year? I have had a number of crackers from Carron Valley, Harelaw and the LOM this year that have been in tip top nick, full shovel tails with spots/rays, great markings and well proportioned. Just about on a par with the big ressies down south especially Grafham.

Or am I talking pants

I think the main reason is folk just dont want the flabby finless fish of the past and anglers will vote with their feet if a fishery is stocking with poor quality fish

Only been fly fishing for a couple of years so I dont know how bad it was in the past but I certainly cant complain about the quality of fish at either Harelaw or Middleton.

We are talking "Stockies here I take it. Fish will only be as good as the quality supplied from any one fish farms. Plenty of lochs lakes & reservoirs have poor quality fish supplied to them. You only have to look at some of the pictures posted on this forum to see how bad they can be & that is a fair cross section of fish. I can not say I have noticed a bettering of quality of late. Some good, some bad & some downright frankenstein
