Default Stan Headley tied flies

Just received my small order for some traditional wets from Stan Headley. I'm more than happy with them, the proportion, colours and materials just look perfect. I asked for a selection of Muddlers, Dabblers and a few wee dries. I'm on Carron Valley tomorrow so i'll see how the Rainbows and browns like them!!!!! ( hopefully as much as me). I might try and copy a couple of them.

Good stuff,

I'll need to order some of the "Lethal Weapon" / Palmered March Browns of his, used my last one a few weeks back and lost it in the b"£$ard heather when I was tying it on to my cast!!

Maybe the man himself will pitch in here as I dont have my "Flies of Scotland" book to hand ...............
However, from a previous question of mine the info for the Lethal Weapon was described as follows:

Hook: 8-12 partridge L2 GRS2A or Kamasan B170
Thread: brown
Under dub: sparse dubbing of yellow seal fur
Over dub: well mixed hare mask
Body hackle: ginger cock
Rib: fine oval gold
Front hackle: brown Partridge tied overly long

Cracking flee

The fly is on the Orkney Trout Fishing Association website at the moment as part of the Cast of the Month feature for August,
Cheers Ken
Sorry the web address is www.orkneytroutfishing.co.uk, there are loads of flies and recipes on there, just click on other months etc.
