hi, if you are fishing wets you wont go wrong with dabblers, peters or stimulators in 12s or 10s. claret stimulator top droper silver dabbler in the middle and r.a. peter with legs on the point. dries work well to small sedges, hoppers even a small daddy. what part of the lake are you going out from should be out there myself on saturday for a few hours.

I wouldn't go out on Conn, or any other Irish lough for that matter, without a Ruddled Grouse. Bit of research needed for this one, or cross my palm with lots of folding stuff and I'll let you have the dressing.

As the originator I should claim royalties. I hope you catch fish on it. My last Conn fish on that fly went 3lbs 14oz.

Tom,

It's been a while since I tied one, but as I remember I abandoned the four colour seal fur body in favour of three. Starting at the tail it's yellow, fiery brown & claret. Body hackles are the same - golden olive and red game wound together and a couple of turns of nice dark claret for the head hackle. I like my golden olive hackles to be "golden". I've seen some very washed out pale versions and these are not as good.
