Default daiwl bach or cruncher?

so your on your local stillwater, loch, reservoir jobbie and you fancy banging a nymph or 2 on the leader.... If you had to choose just one... which would it be?

I tend to put a weighted cruncher on the point with DB as droppers.

hmmm.... weighted cruncher is a new one to me! do you just slap on a bead at the head or use a lead underbody? I presume it helps turnover and depth?

Default DB

In 2003 fed of all the junk in my fly boxes I cleaned them out and fished rutland and pitsford with only a vast array of DB's and some comorants....and some dries.

And I ve never caught so much!!!

My fly boxes are full of all sorts again now of course

It just has a small coloured bead for the head which adds weight and yes, helps turnover.

Click the image to open in full size.

With this on the point and DB's as droppers you can fish various depths.

I do normally fish both but it seems to go in "years" for me - last year they all came to the DB, this year it's the cruncher. No idea why.

Of course the blob on the top dropper outfishes both of them 2:1, anyway

No, it does sadly.

A Damsel on point and a DB on a dropper works well for me - and for a 12lb blue I caught a bit back
