Default River Leader Setup (1 leader does all)

Hi!

I was just wondering if anyone has come up with 1 leader that has good control over the flies when

1. spanish, czech, french - any shortline nymphing approach
2. trio / or nymph hopper setup (long and short casting)
3. dry fly fishing (size 12 - 18) (long and short casting)
4. wee wets

I seem to have seperate leaders for each of the methods, but it would be supa cool if I could consolidate into 1 leader and maybe just snip off or add a bit here or there to suit the type of water i'm fishing.

Has anyone come up with like a 1 leader system that does all that they would like to share :-)

cheers

In a word no! Well, I haven't at least

Czech Nymph - 14ft braid to 6ft of 3lb mono, with droppers on the mono, the braid replaces fly line
Wet, 12ft long, DT hand tied leader
Dry, Tapered leader with a 2lb\.10mm tippet making it about 11ft

I'd rather have the right leader for each situation

Hi

When I fish nymphs on sight in summer with spooky fish on our french river I use this one :
45/100 : 45 cm
40/100 : 50 cm
35/100 : 55 cm
30/100 : 60 cm
25/100 : 65 cm
20/100 : 60 cm
16/100 : 55 cm
10/100 : 200 cm

So total length is around 6 meters, that's the only way to allow long drift with small nymphs.

For czech nymphing it's completely different :
40/100 : 45 cm
30/cm : 45 cm
20 cm : 20 cm yellow + 20 cm red (good combination to spot the takes)
16/100 : 150 cm with my 3 nymphs
