Default Help choose us a stop off on our way to Scotland

We're off to Scotland soon and with the business a little quieter than usual at this time of year we may well head up a couple of days early and stop off half way.

Having just bought a new brook rod I'm looking for somewhere to visit and spend a couple of days using it..... can you recommend me somewhere roughly halfway between Surrey and Stirling.

The only place we wouldn't consider is The Dales as we are going there later in the year.

Ta

Mark

Maybe Alston, somewhere in Northumberland perhaps?

I would have suggested Richmond (the Yorkshire one), but then, it's in the Dales.

When you say not the Dales do you mean Yorkshire or Derbyshire.
If Yorkshire Dales are out then why not stop off in Derbyshire...have a crack at the Derbyshire Wye before moving North.
