Can anyone recommend the best rod for this method,ie length,action,aftm rating etc,cheers para7

I have it on a former river champs authority that 10ft 4/5# is best.

But it depends on the river too. If its a small river, 9 ft

Airflos streamtec rods wont break the bank for this either

As tk8456 says, it does very much depend on where you're fishing.

However, the general criteria would be the longest and lightest AFTM rod weight you can get away with. On small streams I use a 6' 9", 3wt - any longer I'd be poking the opposite bank, on larger rivers a 10ft, 3/4 wt -
