Hi' Daniel, and welcome to the FFF.
We have a fellow-Tasmanian on here, Phil Bailey, aka flyfishwithme, who lives over in north Yorkshire. You may have heard of him, or even know him. TC

Default Tas trout.

HI again,

we have rainbows and browns.with a few brook trout in some of the lakes. with the brook trout it seems to be all or nothing with them. Our fishery consists mainly of lakes ,thre is some river fishing but this has gone down hill in the last few years.I spend a lot of time fishing to surface midge feeders which is great fun and at times frustrating .
I should have said that ours is a wild fishery with some stocking mainly fingerlings.

Re the guy from TASSIE ,dont know him.

when i lived in Scotland i fished for trout in rivers and a lot of time on Loch Leven which i understand has gone backwards from when i fished it in the 60 ties .

Also fished for sea trout in the River Tay and a bit of salmon fishing.

Regards to all Daniel DIDTAS.

Hi Daniel regarding loch leven going back the way i still fish here and the last couple years the fishing has been fantastic. Not many people fish it now. There is only a dozen boats or so now which means there is no fishing pressure these days. 3 & 4lb browns are very common here, 2 years ago i had 8 trout for 24lb and the biggest being 4lb 12oz ..loch leven is a totally magical place and it always be my favorite venue. It may have lost most the comps but it is not lost it's first class brown trout fishing cheers Steve O;Neill
