With his encouragement of canoeists to disturb anglers he is probably guilty of aggravated trespass and should be proceeded against. Write to your Chief Constable and make a complaint rather than write to him. The police have to act on a complaint and at the very least will inconvenience Mr Rhys Jones.

Good plan of attack SB. Would be nice to see him pulled in and interviewed.

Although, it would probably be more detrimental and give him more publicity than he deserves.

What a silly man! - I believe he's already regretting his one sided attack on anglers; and regrets the inappropriate comments he made to the press.

Let's not give him anymore publicity!

He's a so-called celebrity. You know, they invite celebrities to take part in 'Big Brother' and 'I'm a celebrity, get me out of here.' How many of the participants would you wish to have as neighbours? Need I say more?
Some of them open their mouths, and even they don't know what is going to come out. Many reach their 'C' status through their bad behaviour, among other dubious attributes; they will say or do anything that catches the public's attention. They prosper partly cause silly bXXXXXs watch silly bXXXXXs in action. TC

Indeed, as others have said - not the light the canoeing fraternity try to show themselves in.

It's all well and good the speaker for canoeists on this forums saying "there will always be a minority", but when you see someone in the public eye advocating such behavior, even encouraging it, that argument does fall down somewhat.

There is quite a bit of canoeing on the Six Mile Water. This usually happens when the river is in big flood. I've spoken to a few canoeists about this and they mainly get dropped off at the top of the river, then take themselves straight down river for a few miles. Personally, in big water, I can't see a problem with this, as long as they don't start hanging around weirs and pools.

In a flood, I dont think it disturbs the fish much either.
