Default Dry Fly Help PLease

I have been fishing Forrest Hills near Lancaster for a few months now and the results have been 'fair', but I could do with some help as to which dry flys I should use.
I bought some drys on Ebay but they are 'cheap and nasty' according to an experienced fisherman I met at the lake tonight. He suggested Shipman's Buzzers in black and red, and sedges.
Can anyone suggest any more, and also which forum members tie/sell them?

Thanking you all in anticipation,

Derek

PS I notice that the fish here tend to be taking 'sub-surface' rather than on top of the water if this helps.
