Jacko, there are two separate theads on this forum specifically about fishing the Taff. Just take a look at the forums. Also Gareth Lewis, who frequently posts here has a blog called 'Fly Fishing in South Wales' almost all about fishing the Taff. Google it and you will find it. To go on with, Garry Evans and Cliff Harvey are among many tackle shops who sell day tickets for the Taff. The threads are under 'UK Rivers Update'

Default Fishing the Taff

Hi,

Merthyr Tydfil Anglers have a stretch on the Taff from Merthyr to Quakers Yard, their website is www.MTAA.co.uk
Opreys have from Cilfyndd to Upper boat, their website is www.ospreyffa.co.uk, Cliff Harvey angling in Cilfyndd does permits at £30 (I think)
Further down on the Taff is Fynnon Taff waters but I'm not sure you'll get a season ticket as there is a waiting list.

Garry Evans Tackle in Cardiff could also give you info on day tickets for the Taff phone numbers 02920 692968 or 02920 619828.

Hope this helps.

For further advice on what flies, river conditions and catches on the Taff have a look through these following posts:

River Taff, Cardiff

Taff today:

They are updated pretty regular, anything you need to know just post the question and somebody will usually guide you in the right direction.

All the best Keri

Hi Jacko,

From Upper Boat Bridge down river as far as Gelynis Farm at Morganstown is Ffynnon Taf Angling Club.

Day Tickets are not available from any shops to fish this stretch of river.
But are available from myself.
If you wish to contact me then please do.
Cheers
sewinfly........

Hi Richard,

Welcome to the forum! - Where are you based (upper, lower or middle) along the Taff?

Upper is MTAA water

Middle is Osprey's water

Lower is Glamorgan Anglers

There's also a nice stretch controlled by Ffynnon Taff Angling Club!

Where do you want to fish on the Taff?

Regards

Mostyn
