Default Celtic fly craft

I placed an order for 2 items and got acknowledgement 04-06-09.
Chased delivery via e-mail 21-06-09 and the following day they informed me one item was out of stock.
28-06-09 I e-mail questioning the delivery of the second item.
E-mailed again 13-07-09. After a couple of days with no response I e-mailed them again and told them to forget it.

Anyone else had this sort of problem with Celtic flycraft?

Even with on-line shops I always prefer to telephone and talk to a 'real person' when making an order if possible , just to confirm the bits are actaully in stock and not somewhere in 'cyberspace'!

Ive not ordered on-line with Celtic Flycraft, but without deefnding them would guess theyre very much involved with trade shows this time of year.

All that said, they do keep some nice gear though.

I ordered some stuff a cpl of wks ago. Cpl of things out of stock but this is the same at all fly tying stores. The in stock items came next day. Jon also emailed about the others offering an alternative. He's been answering my mails fine. Suggest if it's urgent you call him.

I find Jon and Yolanda brilliant to deal with. I usually phone but have used the web to order in the past which was fine. I have always had first class service from Celtic Fly Craft.

Would have to agree that Jon and Yolanda provide a great service. I have always recieved goods and if not available, get a phone call to let me know. I would say they are travelling the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland showing at trade shows.

Because whenever they are out of stock they adjust the order by sending something else that they deem good or adjust downwards by deleting the item or items.

(Cynic) Is the request for telephone number and email address just used for any monetary problem that could arrise?

Me neither apparently. Contacted them several times by email with a query re warranty. No reply. Gave up eventually.

If the above is true, would it not be a good idea to put a message on their website that orders placed during this period will be delayed. This would allow prospective purchasers the choice to go elsewhere or wait.

Trust me............ i never spend much money with anyone.. Yorkshireman thing, gets worse the further North you go.......

But i to can only say good things about John and his wife.
