i am enjoying it, a bit of free time to myself with no girlfriend moaning on about nothing, but after this many times fishing i just want to catch something especially on my fly rod as i was told today that when i do i'll never go back to worms and floats.

it's 8 times now as i went out for a few more hours after i started this thread. the times i've fly fished i've usually tried to match what flies are about, then i'd try a fly that is highly rated on here like an adams para, then after a while and still no bites i would change to a orange blob and still nothing

, however i was talking to a few anglers and they are all saying the same that nothing is biting anywhere for some unknown reason
when i went out this evening nothing at all on the float and bottom using worms then a polish fella arrived and on his first cast a trout was hooked in about 2min, i went over to see how he did it and he was using shrimp/prawns, then after about 5min he had another trout and a roach. he offered me some and as much as i was tempted i couldn't as its not allowed on this lough. maybe the fish have got onto the shrimp and thats what they're all waiting for?
