Default Local Shops

Hello All,

I have just started fly fishing and am awaiting for the rest of my tackle to arrive, which I orderd after my first fly lesson.

Whilst I do quite like browsing the web for a bargain, there are occasions where I know I will just need a couple of small items for a day out, for which it would be an advantage to pop down to the local tackle shop.

Unfortunately, being new to the sport I am not quite sure where good shops are.

I am located in Bury, lancashire, and any information would be gratefully received.

AlanC,

Many thanks for your prompt response.

I looked the shop up and it seems quite good.

Wigan isn't too far really, and I rarely instantly need anything.

I'm also after a fly vest at the moemnt, and I always like to try clothing on, so I'll have a run out one Sunday and have a good look around.

Kind regards.

NWAC are nearer to you than Wigan. Situated in an old Chapel (I think) between Hindley and Hindley Green. Not really a specialist fly shop - but they have some good cheap stuff.

If you want a visual treat, and fancy a day out, then John Norris of Penrith are worth the journey. Fawcett's of Lancaster are a bit nearer but they keep quite old fashioned opening hours.

The postal address is correct.
However they are about 6 miles east south east of Wigan, just off the A58 that comes from Bury.

If you need to search the web this list of links makes it easier:-

I have always found Sportfish very good. Often next day delivery.
