Default Best place to take a newbegin NHC

NHC - Northern Home Counties for those that didnt know.

Please exclude Ware as you just have to get lucky with the timing there to a biggger degree and the Millenimum Lake can suffer over fishing by the boys who like seats over there.

But I have received a request to take a guy out for the first time and am scratching my head where to go. I believe it is good for a newbegin to catch first time so any replies be geared to this.

Thanks in advance for your views and thank you to all who reply.

OK I'll revamp the question slightly.

Where would be the best place to take a 'newbe' within two hours of sunny St Albans?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

What about Elinor. But my thoughts with newcomers is that a heavily stocked smallwater can work with the proviso that they understand they are going to a stewpond and it's not going to be like that all the time.

But remember with stew ponds. The daily rise can be timed to almost the minute to the time they were fed pellets.

Barn Elms near pangbourne is pretty easy as a beginner, probably within your 2hr range at a guess. J

Three pounder, good call. And thanks for everyone that has replied some really constructive ideas there, You know how it is you introduce some to the pleasures of the fly and you wish them to catch and the enthusiasm kicks in and everything is hunky dory.

Thanks again,
