Default Stonefly limpet holder - for gink bottles????

Hello!

I've ordered these things twice now and despite what they look like in the picture (holding a bottle of gink) they come and they're too big for gink!!!!

They're good for mud for example but not for gink.

Anyone else get this, or am I buying super small bottles of gink or something????

Ta

John

get a old cycle innertube, cut a small piece roll it over the bottle, attatch to zinger and job done,
ps you need the very thin innertubes of racing bikes

Most Stonefly stuff is garbage John, try Pauls idea with the cycle innertube it works and looks the business.

would you be able to get old innertubes from bike shops or that might be a bit pricey won't it?

Every time I pass the bike shop I pop in and he gives me loads, saves them disposing of them.
I have found loads of uses for them, draught sealers on garage doors, cut strips out of them and stick with aquasure, and make great loops for putting round your reels etc etc.

Zoomer showed me another, cut a piece of inner tube so that it is just a flat piece of rubber and glue/aquasure to the heeland ball of the foot of your neoprene boots on your waders to save them wearing through!

Bike inner tubes, possibly the most useful item in fishing?

My other hobby is road race cycling! So I'm sure I have a few somewhere

Great idea that. Thanks

A better bottle holder altogether is the Fishpond design that has been out for a few months now.

Basically the bottle is held around its diameter by an elasticated collar, with a holed fabric return locating the bottles neck.

They work well, i have two and would recommend them.

All the best

Good idea, zoomer. You can also make effective disposable weights for sea fishing over snaggy ground, if you fiill short lengths of bike inner tube with sand, after binding up one end, and sealing after filling. I don't know what the conservationists would think about that, tho'. I used to carry an anchor in my float tube, for parking up at lunch-time or when changing tackle. It was made from a length of 'Mini' inner tube, filled with sand. Because it was curved, you could drape it over the tube, no probs. TC
PS I have a good Gink bottle holder. I think it came from either Sportfish or Sportsmail.
