Fishery report 13th July 2009
The recent rains have done little to dampen the reluctance of our fishermen to take up the challenge of some Summer fishing. Some parts of the country appear to have received as much rain in one day as would be expected in a good month, here we have experienced only enough to keep the grass green and the weeds flourishing. No increase in flow through the lakes has been apparent, so the reduction in water temperature has only been influenced by cooler nights and a good breeze. The most productive times to fish have been first thing in the morning and later on in the evening after the sun has gone down. Fishing that extra hour after sunset has shown to be as good a time to fish as any.
It’s worth a visit just to see the flower meadows which have never looked better. Every year nature seems to chose which species to promote to create a different annual scene.
