Default Roll Casting

Is it possible to cast a full line out on a roll? If so how is it done?

I've managed 22yds so far in calm weather

How can i get it to go further?

Using a standard roll cast I would say you have done well. It's not intended to be a distance cast. Personally I would be happy with 22 yards. What rod length and line weight were you using?

If you try a jump roll cast which is a very different thing, you might be able to throw the entire line.

I'd be interested to see if anyone else on this forum can do a lot better than yourself.

Okay. A heavyish rod then. You could try to push it further with a haul into the forward cast perhaps.

Thats a good roll cast. For the AAPGAI exam they only expect you to cast 40ft. Try a jump roll. Theres a demo on youtube.

A standard roll cast? Please post a video, your roll casting technique must be impecable. The timing, the haul, the shoot....

Definitely a standard roll cast, not a jump roll as mentioned? This is a huge cast...
