i was over working in ireland down county cork way, fished on the black water, wasnt fishing for anything but just showing a work mate how to cast a fly rod

but went to this lake which was recommended to me by a local tackle shop.
http://www.ballyhasslakes.ie/

its the most beautiful lake ive ever set eyes on, not that ive been to many lakes but crystal clear water, lovely fish, plus its not just fishing there's other activities aswell on sight for the kids and holiday homes aswell. theres not much in the area but was a real nice place, i fished of the floating pontoons and had no trouble catching but you can only really fish one side

better hiring a boat

hope this helps

All depends on what sort of fishing you are after as there is water everywhere
You have all the big loughs to choose , all the rivers and the sea also ..

If you give a little more info about what exactly you are after that may help people to answer

Sheelin is fishing very well at the mo

Hi breezey, your wife sounds like mine, silk sheets and champagne, I think we are held to ransom, but it's worth it for a few days good fishing.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Head for Oughterard, Galway, and fish the mighty Corrib. Thats the prime time for the welshmans button. There is a newly built hotel in the town and no shortage of guillies. Top class dry sedge action.

I live in co cork quite close to ballyhass lakes which was mentioned above and fish it alot.It holds a number of double figure fish.but average is around 3 to 4 pound. The big ones are norm caught down deep on lures.I would highly recommend halls holiday homes on the shores of lough mask.It cost around 400euro a week but worth every penny. The fishing is fantastic but you may need a guide if you wish to go any distance on the lake. Its not called the mighty mask for nothing.Hope this helps.

Default Ballyhass

Ballyhass is a great spot, they have a great lake there and well kitted out self catering. Search for them online. Are you into river or lake fishin?
