Default river Ithon???

Due to our holiday booking being cancelled .. i am looking for another location, i have found a nice barn conversion in a place called Cwmbrith Isaf, near Llandrindod Wells, Powys the propaganda says it has 2 miles of single and double bank fishing for the exclusive use of the cottage on the river ifron

it seems to tick all the boxes pony riding for the girls, nice walking red kites... anybody able to give me a heads up on the area and the quality of the fishing on the ifron

I think the Wye & usk Foundation have a couple of beats on the Ithon nr Llandrindod wells. Try giving them a call for some advice, i've always found them very helpful

Good luck

Peter

Fished the 'Severn Arms' stretch of the Ithon many times which is right by where you are, it hold some suprisingly good sized trout & grayling.

It always fishes best with plenty of water in it and some colour but when low and clear can appear barren.

You are only a stones throw from the Wye at Builth which has some nice day ticket water for £10 and gives you plenty of water to fish on both the Wye & Irfon, plus plenty of great Wye & Usk Foundation waters in the area...spoilt for choice!!!.

p.s. If it tickles your fancy there is a really picturesque stillwater close by also called 'Llyngwyn' which has about 16 acres of solitude Rainbow fishing.

Good luck.

Sabsman.

Icky,

Sounds like you're looking at Sophies Barn, or the adjacent barn. If so, take a look at my blog for November 2008 and November 2007.
