Any ideas why the fry were behaving like this?

Hi , I was out on Sheelin early the other morning and it was flat calm . I sat looking down into the water and I saw balls of fry all with their heads down and tails up and not moving atal

I have also seen these fry as you say belly up and when I pick them out of the water they come back to life , put them back and they swim away . I think these few belly up ones maybe ones that have been stunned by trout ??
Not all the trout are on the fry on Sheelin . If you spoon others you will see no fry what so ever only sedge . You say you were hoping to get sedge action , did you not then ?? I am on Sheelin nearly every day and getting plenty of action on dry sedge .
How did your visit go and what did you catch and how ??
