I was looking to get a new landing net and looking over a few web sites found a usa rubber landing net.
These are different to the ones currently in the uk which are just nylon dipped or coated in rubber. The usa ones are moulded big mesh. From a pure catch and release point of view i reccon these are the best you can get in terms of fish health.
As a down side the carp nets i use currently lack scooping power as the mesh is fine acts more of a paddle (good for days when u manuover the boat though). The larger mesh on say boat landing nets means you literally scoop up the trout as it swims past something the carp nets find hard to do.
I cannt find a company in the uk that does a large lake one. orvis do a small stream one that looks good bit pricey.
Has anyone thought about getting one of these? from the usa if so what model.
I quite like the look of this one =Classic Clear Rubber Net (630R) as the link doesnt work but its the right site. They also have some other nets that look quite interesting.
