Default old books ... worth the price ??

As my journey into fly fishing continues and having fished up north a few times when visiting home, my appetite has been wet and i want to learn more about the north country school, it would seem there are 2 seminal works..

North country flies by TE Pritt

Brook and river trouting by Edmonds and Lee

I dont mind paying for books but having never seen either volume i want to know if they live up to their reputation or if they are not worht the price they fetch...

Thanks

The first and second editions do command a premium price - I'd imagine £400+ for a good second edition.

It is however, available as a facsimile reprint (Smith Settle, Ilkley Rd, Otley, W Yorks, LS21 3JP, 1995) at a very reasonable price. It's a rather lovely little book.

Icky, have a chat with Phil Bailey, our Australian friend, flyfishwithme.
He has a massive collection of books, and many on the north country spiders etc.
He will give you good advice.

Edmonds & Lee http://www.archive.org/details/brook...outi00edmorich

Pritt http://www.archive.org/details/north...flie00pritrich

Better still, read one of the newer books covering the subject, such as Sylvester Nemes' "
The Soft Hackle Fly Addict The Soft Hackle Fly Addict
" or Leslie Magee's "
Fly Fishing - The North Country Tradition". Fly Fishing - The North Country Tradition".
Regards,

Doc
