Question Banff Fishing

Hi folks off up to Banff area on 18th this month and was wondering if anyone had any ideas to the best places to fish either river or loch. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Default If you Google Banff+fishing you'll get a lot of hits.

You have a huge amount of public access right in town. For a better trip, I'd 'drop the dime' and hire a guide for a float trip. That said, two things to keep in mind is YOU WILL NEED lots of 'bug juice.' If they have a wet spell, the bugs come out in force!!

Secondly, if you're 'bank fishing' the Elk can be a royal pain in the asss; and they're a hell of a lot bigger than you are (not to mention the rack of horns!! pointed at you).

Forgot to add: the Bow river is a big one, but excellent trout fishing.

Which 'Banff' are you going to? Both have bugs but only one has elk!
