Default Loch Leven newbie...HELP!

Afternoon all,

I was wondering whether any of you guys could lend a hand to a loch leven virgin (as it were) who'll be visiting the water tomorrow. I generally ply my trade on wild highland and island lochs where bank fishing is the only option, and a floating line is the norm.

What basic tips can you give me to improve my chances of catching something tomorrow? I have floating and intermediate lines at my disposal, and a load of standard fly patterns. I generally prefer dry fly fishing - will this be a waste of time do you think?

Sorry for the simplistic nature of this post - any help would be greatly received.

Cheers

Phox

Welcome to the forum. It would probably have been better if you had given the forum a few days to get back to you. Your timeframe is a bit tight, but hope you get some assistance.
Ooops
Most anglers in the World championships were using fast sinking lines and big lures. But we caught with midge tip/floater and nymphs
North bouy area, and Behind St Serfs island,East side of the reed bower.

ok,ill try to keep this short for you.The fishing at the loch has been difficult this week, the weather conditons tommorow suit the evening session,do not come in early ,the evening rise has not been comming on till after 10 30pm ,with a decent wave try snatcher patterns and traditional wets,if it calms off try your drys or suspender patterns,If youre out during the day its di7 time with lures. As for which area ,the whole loch is switching on now,but probaly choose between the reed bower area, willows or the drifting through the north deeps onto scart island.best of luck, one fish off the lady is worth ten anywhere else.
