sorry cant help with names of waters, but try reservoirs, and canals. Normally you will just need a permit and rod licence.
Make sure you know how to handle them, and use a wire trace.
Flies I use are 1/0 -4/0. I find yellow with a red head the best.
Hope this helps a little bit.
regards John

Canals are a good place to start as the fish are always in range , its just a matter of covering a long stretch - bridges and lock areas are good , ask among local match anglers / tackle shop where they are troubled by pike . Watch out if the water is clear not to show yourself and cast up the nearside bank 1st , pike often lie along the edges. Even relatively small flies will get takes , my avatar was 27lb on a 3inch perch fly, best canal pike 12lb on a 1#clouser . If you have never fished for pike make sure you carry large forceps or long nose pliers for unhooking , laying the pike on its back encourages it to open up but never put your fingers in its mouth .
Good luck , Bob

Come to think of it, are there any canals in the North East ? East yorkshire certainly has pike in the pocklinton canal and the river hull , I used to fish the canals and drains out towards Scunthorpe with good results . Maybe its going to be trout waters then ? http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~robmurray/mainpage.htm
