Default Bats on a fly

Any body ever hooked an eager bat?

I was just curious as last night while fishing on the Wellow brook, bats were about and had a fear that they might very easily mistake an artificial for a real fly mid-cast.

What's the best way to deal with a hooked bat in flight?

Never actually hooked one, but did knock one clean out in mid air during a back cast, whilst after sea-trout.
