Default Season so far?

Despite the recent heat and cloudless skies my season has been above average. I am concentrating on shadow covered part of the river working these parts with stealth. The other adjustment I have made is to fine down as much as possible with my tippets now nevr more than 2lb b.s.
Fly life has been encouraging with hatches most days although the average size is now so small I can hardly see them!

It's OK so far - this will be my second season and it's started OK, lots of fish caught and a few milestones acheived. Things tailed off a little but I'v recently had a personal best wild brownie and for a while I'll be targetting the course fish on the fly locally as well as the trout on the ressies again.

Still lots of improvements to be made but I'm definitely seeing progress.

First season on the river and been catching almost every visit mostly on nymphs but with one or two spectacularly fooled on dries. Have had to trade up in terms of tippet size from 3 - 6lb bs as have been broken a couple of times. Looking forward to August which I am told is a good dry fly month but the only way to connect is as you say stealth and making sure the fish do not spot you before you spot them.

It has been a bumper season for me so far.... most sessions i am into double figures, hammered my pb for a wild brownie and took some cracking Grayling already too. I have broken my spate river cherry and caught and took fish early season on spiders, i also broke my stillwater duck and caught some leviathon bows, which i enjoyed much more than i thought i might...

Having the best season ever. PB river brown on the first day of the season, several others since that would have been pb,s before this year. Also pb sessions at 2 other places I regularly fish one for average size and one for quantity .
First salt water catch on fly and a silver tourist are my goals for the rest of the year.

Since moving to my new venue, ive not had a blank, and the fish are first class,
which makes all the difference,
Anglers are now more choosy and not willing to put up with second grade fish with stubby tails and fins,
With this weather, you do have to pick your days,,better trying in the evening.
