So, ive been using a floating line which is quite light and it has a braided leader, then i add around 18" inches of tippet material. Today we had no tippet with us but just regular mono it had a sort of brownish colour to it compared to what i usually use whihc is almost clear. The stuff i was using was 6lb line.

Would that make a difference? could the fish see that?

Ive noticed 1 of my mates generaly doesnt even use a leader and ust uses either tipet matieral or mono.

In fisheries where fish see lots of line it makes a big difference.
If using mono I try to use one of the sight free makes, the course anglers have made big improvements over the years so we can benefit from that.
If using fluorocarbon it does what it says on the tin.
As for me I mostly tie 6lb right through from loop to point + droppers as required.

I can barely see straight money on a fly line as it is. I wear glasses so dont where sun glasses.

I got 2 leaders the other day. there 12 foot :-) those fishes aint seening my fly line.
