Default Beautiful Scotland...

Hi,

I have just returned from doing the 3 Peaks and although you dont get chance to enjoy much of the countryside in such a short space of time, I was amazed at some of the beautiful outdoors in Scotland.

I have visited the Scottish cities before but never seen so many waters crying out for a fly line as I did on the way up to Glen Coe.

This is one Englishman who will be planning many more visits north of the border in the future.

Jim.

You aint even tickle the tip mate. Im 1 of the lucky 1's whos been and seen places and sights you could only dream about. When I served my time as an apprecntice keeper I was lucky to be invited and still lucky to be invited up the hill for a stalk at the Red deer back n forth. The problem is in certain areas once you get to the top of 1 hill theres another screaming to be walked. Travel light would be my advice and dont rule out Sutherland especially from the Naver through to Melvich and strath hallidale and what ever you do DO NOT MISS STRATHY there are hill lochs up that area with bucket lid rises.

Sedgeking,

I do indeed mean the real ones!

To be fair, the Yorkshire 3 Peaks is also a fabulous walk. Have you done it?

Jim

Twice in its entirety.....Ingleborough more times than I'd like to consider in more youthful days.

I think I would happily do it every week if it weren't for that horrible 6 miles back to Horton In Ribblesdale from the top of Ingleborough.

You should try the National 3 Peaks, it is a lovely walk that is well achievable with a bit of training. We finished it in 21 hours and 52 mins.

Best thing is, now that we have done it, more time for fly fishing!!!

Where do you do most of your fishing?
